Therapy Approaches
I specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - an NHS recommended, evidence-based form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). ACT works by teaching you a set of practical skills to help you respond more effectively to difficult thoughts and feelings so they have less impact and influence on you, enabling you to reconnect with your values and move forward with purpose towards the life you want.
I also draw on a range of other evidence based models and therapies to develop an agreed plan with you – based on an understanding of your individual needs and circumstances, the difficulties you would like to work on and the outcomes you would like to achieve. Some of the other therapeutic approaches I use are: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Behavioural Psychology Attachment Theory Relational Frame Theory Positive Psychology Mindfulness
